The wizard presses his back against the ancient wall of the cavern, feeling their clothes catch on the rough surface and begin to damp. Lifeblood flows from numerous wounds all over his body, but at least he fares better than the rogue, crumpled in a heap of gore and being trod upon by a seemingly endless parade of approaching undead down the tunnel. His other companions stand far above him atop a mine shaft, lowering a large ore bucket at the end of a chain, but it's moving too slowly. Gritting his teeth, he murmurs the incantation to a particularly potent bit of magic, tracing faint runes into a piece of obsidian and holding it aloft, causing... nothing. The arcane forces he had spent so many long years working with are silent as a cold realization dawns upon him. Shifting gears, he casts a cantrip. The ground begins to tremble, his voice echoing loudly throughout the musty cave that would soon be his grave. "Run."
